Arrow no video playback

I am running RH8.0 with a nVidia Geforce2 MX graphics card. For some reason I can't get vide (mpeg) playback to work. When I load an mpeg into noatun or kaboodle, the same thing happens. NOTHING. It just sits there, I can press play 1000 times, but no video appears. Since it does this in both programs, I'm assuming it has something to do with hardware or a configuration somewhere. But I have no clue where to start.

Anyhelp would be great.

Download mplayer.. http://www.mplayerhq.hu

I doubt its a hardware problem, more than likely it could be a problem with the file itself or possibly something installed to support mpeg. Redhat 8.0 is known to have problems with video and mp3 playback.. as they didn't ship it with most of the support.
