nfs server doubt

if i write an entry in /etc/exports file as
/data 192.168.0.40/24(rw,no_root_squash)

Now if a root user log in to machine 192.168.0.40 and mounts /data to /mnt

now if root creates a files in /mnt and normal user creates file in /mnt

Then on the nfs server side that is in /data if i type ls comand it shows the files created by clients its fine but

if normal user creates a file and if i type ll on the nfs serverside
in /data it is showing me as 500 500 as uid and gid.

if root creates it is showing as root root as uid and gid.

now my question is what entry should i write in /etc/exports to reflect the username on server side instead of uid and gid .

Hi

Please read the LQ Rules.

DO NOT double post - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...bt-811661-new/

If you read my response in your other thread (as well as those of other members) solutions are proposed to your problem - however these require that you take our advice, research the potential solution and attempt this yourself.

This forum does not give you step by step instructions on how to solve problems.
