Imagemagic and GIMP, never heard of Linpus...
I would start by putting a better distro on it...
What are the computer's specs?
Have you tried any live cd's?
Linpus lite is based on Fedora core I believe, so if you can't find specific linpus packages, use the fedora version. Also, use the 'yum' command as root in order to download and install programs before attempting to install them manually, i always find it easier that way. For example 'yum install gimp'.
with limpus light you are pretty much stuck with the software on there web site . witch is not to much .
the release of that distro has been a thorn in the side of *nix http://www.linpus.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acer_Aspire_One#Linux
i would install Ubuntu on that netbook if i were you .It is good for the new Linux user
as for a photo editor , i use " Gimp "
gimp is like photo shop , but open source http://www.gimp.org/
but you might need to build it from the source code and that might be a big problem on Limpus Light.

Eeeek! None of that sounds like English to me! I've got an acer aspire one so there's no cd drive...
I suggest installing another distro as well, if Linpus really have a so limited set of programs.
In Linux you usually don't go around the web hunting for programs. You use your package manager (I have no idea what would that be in Linpus) to install things.

GIMP is similar to Photoshop, equal, better, not as good...depends upon whom you ask
Linpus is not a very popular distribution of Linux of which there are over one thousand. You could go to the 'distrowatch' website (just google that) and find list of the most popular ones.
Computers specs generally means what hardware you have...processor, mboard, graphics card, etc.
Live CD is an operating system that runs from a CD.
I hope this article will help you a lot, especially tips 3 and 4 which enable you to install GIMP which is an excellent image editor (you will need internet connection to do it) http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/09...ips/print.html "Ten tweaks for a new Acer Aspire One"

Wow, you are a genius!!!
I followed the command and have found I've got KolourPaint. I'm not sure if it's the one I downloaded or it came with the netbook.
You've totally saved my skin though, I was despairing. I'm going to be messing around with it for the next couple of days and see what else I learn!
