i have tried alot of different distribions and i thought they all sucked cause they were slow but i tried knoppix and i love the speed i get out of it , but im using the older kernel i think the 2.4 instead of 2.6 .....does this matter ? should i be worried about security ?

Also im having problems with my mouse.........it seems to skip a little at times.....like i dont have the accuracy like i do with windows......sometimes i click accuratly and sometimes i can do the same exact thing i did the first time but the mouse will skip a little....i tried hooking up different mouse's and they all do the same and i have no problems in windows......is there a way to make my mouse more accurate and controlable......when i want to click something i want to be able to click it instead of ot skiping all the time......

as for you mouse troubles: please post the model and brand of the mouse, and also post your X configuration file... usually it's /etc/X11/xorg.conf or /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 or something like that...
