Newbie Power / Suspend / Standby etc Question
I am a Linux Newbie. I have just setup a Fedora Core 1 Server. I have DHCP and IP Masquerading set up, and it is all working beautifully for my home network.
BUT, I have a problem with my server going into STANDBY or SUSPEND MODE (not sure which it is going into that causes the problem). When this happens, all the computers on my network are NO LONGER able to get to the internet through the server UNTIL I press a key on the keyboard, and bring the server back out of STANDBY or SUSPEND.
Where are the settings that control when and if the server goes into these modes? Is it controled by APMS or DPMS or ACPI???? Do I need APMS and ACPI in the Kernel for a desktop computer / server? What would happen if I recompile the Kernel WITHOUT these??
What should I do??? I don't want the computer to go into SUSPEND OR STANDBY. How do I stop this from happening? Where do I look? Where do I start??? Does anyone know of a good LINUX LINK on the net that explains LINUX POWER MANAGEMENT??? HELP!!! PLEASE!!!
I am lost, and this Newbie would be VERY grateful for any help.....
THANK YOU!
