New User with Java and Firefox

I never created a user when I installed FC3. I was under root and had java working under firefox. However I created a user so I wouldn't be doing everything as root. However I dont have Java on firefox now. I redownloaded java put it in my new home directory. I tried creating a symbolic link, but it was already there from before. How can i get something to work system and I guess user wide. Also what the hell do I do now??

Thanks a bunch
David

Where do you have Java as root and your normal user? If you keep it in place accesible by all users, all can use it with FF.

Delete the symbolic link, then recreate it with the original java you installed system-wide. Also, how does it not work, the plug in doesn't load? Or does it load and nothing happens? (check aboutlugins)

ex.
cd /usr/lib/firefox/plugins
ln -s /usr/java/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Java apps just cant be seen in the new user, as root I can see it. It is not the plugin issue. I have the right symbolic link

How does permissions look like on the plugin? Is it readable/executable by normal users?
