New Mexico Linux users? Need to hold an EXPERIENCED hand to fix my system.

Are there any linux people on here that reside anywhere near Roswell, NM that I can get some help from?.....or might be willing to contact me via chat or phone? I am out of ideas and help, and I need my system working NOW. Ubuntu screwed up my mbr and all of my attempts to fix it have failed...I can't boot back into xp....and now I have a RAID array failure and I can't see my working hard drive any more.

Please help.

Do you have a backup of your data?
Have you tried using a live cd to backup your data?
What error do you get? Literally ..

to get back into XP, use install CD in recovery mode.

What is the HD setup---# and size of drives, etc.?

I would provide a link to my thread with my problems...but the moderators said I can't do that....sooooo I will try to condense my problem....

System:
AMD 64 3000+ processor
MSI K8 motherboard with onboard 5.1 surround
dual dell 21" trinitron crt monitors
nvidia 6600 gt graphics card
MSI TV/Tuner card
western digital 200 GB and maxtor 250 Gb set as RAID 0 array
(has been working flawlessly for a year and a half)
windows xp pro
epson 740i printer, 610 scanner
logitech pro 2000 webcam
iomega zip100
imation superdisk
yahoo dsl with actiontec wi-fi router
D-link wifi card and antenna
(I included all the periferrals so if there are any issues with them, someone might take the time to note them.)

I tried an ubuntu install...that went waaaaaay awry. Then I couldn't get into either xp or ubuntu....but I could boot with the live cd....I tried several ways to get help to fix the bootloader and grub...and recover files.....it was very slow going...so between posts I tried to try various partition options and THEN I tried installing a partition on my 1st hard drive instead of the 2nd drive that I had been using... and the install stalled on me. I reset the computer, then got an error saying that my raid array was broken on my 2nd drive... The help I recieved from a chat room and the forums suggested unplugging my bad drive and trying to boot the good drive...welll I unplugged the good drive 1st (I had to guess), then I plugged it back in and unplugged the drive with the broken array. When I rebooted it wouldn't see the good drive at all....so I plugged in the bad drive and now....all I can see is the bad drive, I can't see my good drive at all.......

So now....I can't boot into anything and I'm pretty certain my xp partition is screwed up and I can't boot into ubuntu or the live cd to recover any of my files.....or restore my xp install....

After thinking it over...I'm going to post my other thread here anyway, so you can see exactly the chain of events.

Moderators....I'm sorry if this irritates you...I need help now....I need to get back into my xp partition for work purposes so I can get paid this month.

Here is the thread....

If they close this thread...please email me at mytopsecretmailbox@yahoo.com

Thank you for any help you can give.

I would suggest get someone that is familiar with linux to do this for you with a live disk, since this seems to be important stuff you need to save. All I can suggest is:

New Mexico Linux Users Group

Next Meeting:
Thursday 02/23
approx. 6:00 to 8:00 at Santa Fe Baking Company

Here is their homepage:
http://nmglug.org/index.html
email contacts link is at bottom left corner of page, at top left in the "Contents: Links" link you will find links to possibly closer linux user groups.

Good luck
