Network Packet info with syslog

Dear Friends ,
I have to configure rsyslog server with few clients . But I am confused to configure rsyslog on the client end properly . From my client side I want to get the Network Packet flow information o my syslog server .
How can I do it ?

My second ques :

what is difference between 'syslog' and 'rsyslog' ?
And If I use rsyslog as server , then can I use syslog as client?

Waiting for kind reply . ..

If you mean Netflow information (as in network equipment) then you don't (different types of data structure). *If you don't mean Netflow then please be verbose when explaining your situation in detail. And make sharing detailed information a default, OK?

Rsyslog and Syslog-NG both address features missing in oldschool syslogd. Visit their respective vendor pages for more information or ask specific questions after reading the documentation. After all you're supposed to be some sort of a professional, right?
