need help with getting browser statistics

I'm very new to Linux and very confused. I have a class project to do and I figured everything out but the last three things.

Number of visitors using Internet Explorer broken down by version.
Number of visitors using Firefox broken down by version.
Number of people using any other browser.

We are suppose to use cut, grep, sort, uniq,wc

I know that in the log file that all of that is in field 6 so I have the cut -f6 i know it's uniq -c and the wc -l it's the sorting and grep that I cannot get. I have looked online for answers but all I find is the programs to use. Please help me!
Here is a couple of lines from the log file:

well, first of all, shouldnt you do your homework yourself? secondly, why dont you just google it?

grep searches text grep

and sort is self explanatory...sort

just combine those together and your good.

It seems you're under a bit of stress.

To resolve this problem you may consider drinking tea and watching this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moSFlvxnbgk
