multiple questions: Winex for applications/ntfs to to linux

I've been using linux for a little while and decided that I'd like to switch to using linux most or all of the time however I have a few questions that may affect my decision. First there are some windows apps I would like to run in linux but I would also like to play some games in linux and I was wondering if apps worked just as well in Winex as in Wine or if should just use wine and keep a windows partition for just gaming. As for my second question, I currently have my ntfs partition mounted in linux and I wanted to know if it is possible to transfer directly from my ntfs partition to linux or if I would be better of just keeping the mounted partition. Thanks.

Don't know about games.

What do you mean by transfer from ntfs? If you want to just copy stuff over from an ntfs partition to a linux partition, there's no problem. But you wouldn't be able to read the stuff from windows once you've moved everything away from ntfs.

Thanks I just wanted to make sure that just transferring from ntfs wouldn't mess anything up because I know linux and ntfs are in a kind of experimental stage.
