Multiple Kernels

I'm running Fedora Core 3 on 2.6.9 Kernel. I use apt-get and yum to update my system. I did an update and had the 2.6.10 installed. Now when I boot up with Grub I have 2 kernel options. I only want one kernel on my system though. How do I get rid of the right kernel without jeprodizing the rest of my system ?

hi there,

quick and dirty:

1. remove the entry from grub.conf
2. remove the related files under /boot
3 .remove kernel source - if you have it installed
4. remove the modules
5. update grub
6 done...

yeah, the mighty slack-way

slack is great, you learn a lot.
however, with apt-get you do:

apt-get remove <TheNameOfThePackage>

that´s all. it *should* update your boot loader, too. if it doesn´t, you can always use slackie1000:s advice

good point pevelius! apt-get solution is more elegant.
for sure apt-get is less wild than my method.

anyway i tried to propose a solution distro independent.
