MOVING INSTALLED PROGRAMS for MANDRAKE Move

if prog was (locally) successfully installed:

-does the following way help?

<actual work dir $>wich acroread '-->/usr/bin/wich: no acroread in /usr/bin/' [acrobat reader was not found]

-if acroread is installed on cd-archive: '-->/mnt/cd-rom/usr/sbin/'
after I enter the command:
<actual work dir $>export PATH=$PATH:/mnt/cd-rom/usr/sbin/

* * help needed for newbie!! * *

You can add the 'export PATH=...' command to your personal profile (~/.profile) and it should be run every time you log in. In such case, if the executable is accessible, you should be able to run it.
