mounting windows drives

I have a mounted windows drive, but i cant seem to be able to change it. I went into DiskDrake and changed my windows mounted drive (unchecked the ro (read only) option) but still i cant create directories on it. Plz help!!!!!!!!!!
It always gives the error: "Read-only file system". I've tried modifying the files thru' root account, but still get the same msg. I hope someone helps.

ntfs or fat?

If it's ntfs, stop trying. Even though there's
support for ntfs write in the kernel it's highly
experimental and usage is discouraged.

If it's fat, do a serach here, use windows, mount,
umask as search terms, it's been asked
a billion times.

Cheers,
Tink

I know the whole point of Linux is that it's free but this is the best $40.00 bucks I've spent.
