Question Modem Setup

I have Mandriva Powerpack 2006 DVD and my modem is Sagem fast 800, the problem is when I have to setup the modem it will ask for the DVD and then it open's up the tray for the dvd but the tray that open's is for is a CD (CD Rewriter - (master slave)) the DVD is (Second Master), so how would I change the CDRW for the DVD to open up. Do I have to use SU (Root) to setup, if so I don't know how to do it, could someone show me step - by - step what to do. Thank you.

Are you saying that your CD Rewriter is the Master on your Primary IDE channel, and the DVD is the Master on the Secondary channel? "master slave" doesn't make any sense...

Anyway, I'd guess that the installer is looking in /cdrom for the CD. You could become root and change the symlinks so that /cdrom points to the DVD drive, then change it back later, but that sounds like a fair bit of hassle. It's more likely that you can tell then program which drive to use somehow. Put the disc in your DVD drive, then look for an option that allows you to specify the location of the install files. If you really can't find it, then playing around with symlinks would work, but it will require you to be root.

Did'nt use what you suggested but I found another way.
Frist loaded Configure Your Computer then opened up Software Management and inside opened RPM (select from where software packages are downloaded when updating the system) and where it say's The Ultimate Linus Desktop DVD (CDRom1) go to edit at URL / (removable://mnt/cdrom/media/main) change (removable://mnt/cdrom3/media/main) or what the Cd or DVD position is. Thank you.
