Missing Akonadi Desktop in Slackware 14.1

I recently upgraded my Slackware 14.0 to 14.1. The problem i have is the Taskbar and the Akonadi Desktop is missing. However, when i "startx" as root, then everything work fine. Any solutions?

Can you post the results of this command:
Code:
ls -l /usr/bin/startx
This could be a permissions issue.

ls -l /usr/bin/startx gives

rwxr-r-xr-x root root

Note that, I am able to run x-applications. The only problem is that the Taksbar is missing, when I logon as a user.

Thanks

When you run startx from a tty as a normal user (not root) what, if any, error messages do you get?

Dear Jdk,

This is the error message I get when i "startx"

xset: bad font path element (#10), possible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax
startkde: Starting up...
Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 14: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.

So it appears that there's something wrong with your font installation. My guess would be that you need to install or update the fonts required by your DE. Are all your xfonts installed correctly and do you have the correct version?
