I am looking for the most Windows Center like OS of linux, I just like the price tag!! :-) OPEN SOURCE ROCKS

the system is a 1.4ghz celeron or a 1.7GHZ celeron
w/ 512mb
20gb- 40gb of space 5400 and i have a 80gb 7200 that might be going in. not sure yet
a Lappy DVD Burner
also will need to get 2 usb game pads to play some of the games. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse that i am going to be using, this unit will be taking place of my DVD player
the music will be on my server that has about 200gb of space and will stream over the network.

Media...

I use amaroK and VLC. I like them because they are easy to use, and they...well...work.
To rip from CD, I like Grip.

There are alot of projects witch try to turn linux in a media player.

Some of most wel known are MythTv and Freevo

They come as pachages, if you plan to use your computer ONLY as a media center then there are a lot of people who suggest to use Ubunto as a distro.
