I have no idea why my manjaro linux laptop won’t boot up. It was working fine earlier today. When I start the computer, it boots up to the password login screen for cryptManjaro volume, because when I installed manjaro, I encrypted the volume; but once I enter my password the screen goes completely black forever.
When was at the password login screen for cryptManjaro , I can press ALT+1 to get into a TTY. From there I can enter my cryptManjaro volume password, boot-up and login as my user… however when I try to do
$ startxfce4
to run my xfce desktop environment. I get this error:
Fatal server error:
(EE) xf86Openconsole: Cannot open /dev/tty0 (No such file or directory)

When I do
# startxfce4
or
sudo startxfce4
I boot xfce desktop environment for root… but I don’t get the xfce bar at the bottom of the screen.
I’ve also tried from TTY to
sudo pacman -Syyu
to check for any errors; but I can’t access the internet, even when an ethernet cable is plugged in.
How do I get my laptop to boot up normally, with my normal user on xfce?
Thanks in advance.
