Make and Sh commands

I want to make a file called file roller for Ubuntu 9.10. The folder has a file called install.sh and some others that are make.

I figure first I need to make a file and then run install.sh to install.
But I don't know how to do this. Could someone walk me through this?

Let us back up a little, are you saying you want to install the application "file roller"?

If not, what / where is "The folder"??

Lastly, why are you not installing this with either apt-get or the built in package manager Synaptic???

Do you mean that you want to know how to install the program called "file roller"?

If so, you should use the ubuntu package. You can do that with the following command:
Code:
sudo apt-get install file-roller
Cheers,

Evo2.
