Majaro, crackling mic

Using manjaro BTW, but also happening on Ubuntu.

My mic is crackling a lot, on the arch wiki there are two solutions, here and here.

Neither is working for me, as, /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf doesn't exist on my machine, apparently,

So I tried the amixer commands, this was the result.
```
$ amixer sset "Mic" 0%
amixer: Unable to find simple control 'Mic',0
$ amixer sset "Mic" mute
amixer: Unable to find simple control 'Mic',0
```
Any suggestions as to why they don't work, how I can make them work or an alternative solution? Thanks

Are the two different distros on different PCs?
If cleaning the jack doesn't help, do you have another mic to try?

the two distros are not on different PCS, but I tried on windows it worked fine, and on android it worked fine, so it's not the PC, audio jack or mic. I'm going to swipe a friends high quality mic within the next day or so to see if there's still poor quality on it.
