ls one screen at a time

I'd like to display the contents of my /usr/lib directory.

But there are a lot of files, and they scroll quickly past as the command
"ls" executes.

I recall there is some way to display one screen at a time, but I don't remember how.

I appreciate any feedback. How do I display the contents of a directory by "ls" and viewing one screen at a time in my terminal?

Thanks.

You may also want to try piping ls in to "less" since less is more

That way you can scroll up and down.

I like the "ls -l | less" method too. Then I can use "page down". Thanks for your reply.
