In addition to web-searching, there's a lot of good books (amazon).
Are you near a large library? (My BayArea CA libraries have a lot)

The common advice is: practice! Use Linux!
(idea: http://OSboxes.org/virtualbox leaves your M$Win running undisturbed!)

Let us know how you are progressing with the exam-objectives

May I also suggest that you skip the actual "certification," and spend your time and energy just studying the "exam materials." As "___" suggests, set up a virtual machine using VirtualBox (it's a virtual-machine monitor, supported by the largest software company in the world, costs nothing, and runs on every host ...), and start doing the things that the exam talks about.

"Certifications" are just a commercial product, and I have serious doubts as to their practical usefulness. "The ability to 'ace' an exam" is not at all the same as "actually being able to do it in the field." Students today have plenty of experience in "taking tests."

However if you told me during an interview that you had, on your own initiative, set up a VM and had practiced doing something [that you thought was ...] similar to what my position called for you to do, I would suddenly become very interested. Of course I would know that "I can teach you the rest, and I expect to, once you're on board." If you tried to "teach yourself," you might be the one I'm looking for.

Don't learn it 'as fast as possible'....there are countless folks who have loads of 'certifications' who don't know anything. Please don't be one more of them. Get depth of knowledge and learn WHY things work along with HOW.

You need to do well on both the 101 and 102 tests to get your LPIC-1 certification.
