Not yet using Linux, but am keen. Big requirement will be to record my L.P. collection, and hopefully have click & pop removal, as well as track splitting. Only thing I have ever used that was good at this was adaptec easy cd creator 4. - Later Roxio versions have had their probs, even 4 was not good at track splitting; this was best done manually. 4 does not run on XP, so if Linux has something for this, now is the time to change.

Not sure of any software but would say there is. I search google a bit and had many hits. Here is one that describes conversion but no pop crack remaoval as describe. But searching google further should get you your answer. http://www.vanemery.com/Linux/Rip/rip-analog.html
I believe "Gramophile" is a command line application for recording from LP.
Found it via Synaptic package manager for Debian.
Maybe it is available for other distros???
