Lots of questions regarding hardware and which distro etc...
Hey guys, I read that my VIA KT(?)400 8x AGP chip is not supported in the 2.4 kernel. This seems to be supported by the fact that when I try and ./make.sh the ati-driver in fedora it says that the AGP chipset is currently unsupported.
I read that it IS supported in kernel 2.6, so I need to know, using some good distro you reccommend, (not mandrake 9.2, no nic support) how I can install the 2.6 kernel and if I can install the ati-drivers and agpgart module on my chipset with it.
Please help, I've used linux before but never for anything other than web browsing and office-type uses. I want to get the full features of linux now, plus higher resolutions than 1024x768 and 3d acceleration.
