iam using mandrake 10 community, and there is 3 CDs for it. but during my installation and when i try to install some packages, the thing pops up asking for CD4... i tried putting 1,2 and 3 in there but it doesn't work,... and i am positive there are only 3 CDS for mandrake 10 community...
whats going on?
There is a CD 4 I believe, if you are a Mandrake Club Member, you can get extras. If you don't have it just hit cancel and the installation will complete. Thats what I did and it worked fine. I did the upgrade from 9.2.
If you are a mandrake club member (well, silverlevel member and above), you can download a "powerpack like" version which is the first 3 cd's plus disc's 4 and 5 which have some of the commercial app's that you'd normally get if you buy the powerpack version - which is 6 or 7 cd's or 1 dvd (which is what I normally go for).
It's probably just that they've set it so you just have to do the extra stuff if you've got the disc's, and if not you just click no and it just does the download 3 cd install - and you have to get the nvidia drivers, real player, adobe acrobat, etc etc etc yourself (if you can) and get em up and running.
My membership is only standard - it's what you get if you buy a powerpack dvd. And yes, I will update it when it runs out, but ONLY, if those cretin's at mandrake change the mandrake store so I can pay for it in US$'s - as at the moment, if you are in Western Europe you will only get offered it in euro's (well that's what you get if you try from the UK anyway).
