Post Logining in

Ok, I just installed Linux Mandrake 8.2 yesterday. I bought it a long time ago, and for the 1st time I installed it. It installed fine and when it was done i was logged in and doing everything fine. The next day when i booted up my pc it asked me for my login and password in the shell? I enter it and it just says like [vex@localhost] or something like that. How can i get back to the KDE screen and the desktop?

The other option is to type:
kdm

This will bring up a login manager, which might be more of what you are trying to "get back to".

Cool
