Question limewire & java

i keep having problems with limewire its a p2p file sharing program.
it requires java, well any way i had the basic version which is free and it worked just fine. so i installed the pro version that i had to pay for and it keeps giving me these error that it cant find java. so needless to say i spent several hours uninstalling and reinstalling java and limewire pro.
it still does the same thing. this only happens when i run it in a terminal
when i just open from the icon it starts to load then just stops. what should i do?

java needs to be in your path put this in your .bash_profile

PATH=/xx/jrexxx/bin:$PATH

the xx is where you have it installed and your version.
