Latex document typeset with bold typeface

I would like to have a document typeset using a bold typeface. Is it possible to have a document all in bold typeface, including equations?

You should be able to change the typeface globally for regular text.

Any way... for the text, try the wrapping the entire document with "bfseries":

Code:
\bfseries{

This is some text\footnote{The text has a footnote}.

\begin{equation}
x = y^2
\end{equation}

This is some more text.

}
It's a cheap-n-dirty way to render all the normal text as bold but, frankly, not very good. The equation will not be in a bold typeface. (For example, footnotes, if you tried the example above, did not render the footnote text as bold using this trick.) What you want to do is going require a package.

For equations, there are some font packages that render equation text and symbols as bold. I've never used them so I'm afraid I can't be of much help in their use. Try searching for the "\mathbf" and the "\bm" packages. "amsmath" apparently has their own bold font packages: "\boldsymbol" and "\pmb". Again... never used them.

You might try heading over to CTAN and search the list of packages in the archives for "F" and check out any packages containing "font". There's plenty there to read and, in my experience, the packages are full of examples so you're bound to find the best way to change all your text to bold. (Hint: I think "font_selection" might be exactly what you're looking for.)

HTH...

Have fun!

I thought this has been solved but I was wrong. Have used the following two commands

Code:
\boldmath
\renewcommand{\seriesdefault}{\bfdefault}
Things are fine except when using lemma, theorem, and corallary.

Seems to go nicely with all of your other Latex and related threads, but with seemingly very small changes:

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...5D-4175711153/

At some point, you are going to have to read and understand the documentation and look at the examples you can find to work through your own problems. Posting small pieces of what you're doing (and in this case, just TELLING US what you want to do with no effort of your own), isn't going to get you much. There are several Latex GUI editors...tried any of those??
