Hi! I have got the following problem:
I have installed slack today and some problem emerged , my main headache is that I do not know how to install language packages, the kde control center offers me plenty of layouts, but without the language support they are useless. The buttons add language doesn't work. I can't even open non english webpages in mozilla. What would you suggest?
Tnahx a lot,
concerning language support - when installing slack 10.2, I also installed international language support for kde or sth like that, and it doesn't work. I need to type in russian without converting to russian interface, and russian is not available as a language. Is it solvable in slack?
No, I just want to be able to type in russian and polish, the interface should stay english. and I also have problems with viewing russian webpages. may be I should download and install some additional fonts? if yes how is it done in linux(slack10.2)?
Use linux google to find Fonts after you got them there're few ways to set them the way I like is using the xorg.conf file to set them up than I restart the xserver and you got them + you need to add the language in the net browser.
I was in the same situation. I installed thiskde-i18n-bg-3.4.2-noarch-1 from Slackware 10.2 CD2, and now I can add Bulgarian. I have all these packages already installed:
When I add Bulgarian, I see squares instead of letters both in applications title bar and web pages(I see squares and without adding Bulgarian in web pages). I tried 8859-5, windows 1251 and Unicode encoding in firefox but with no effect.
