kubuntu 12.10 crashed after uninstalling nepomuk

kubuntu 12.10 - Was running beautifully until -during the uninstall of nepomuk, all my panel icons started to be removed, one by one!
On reboot, kubuntu would not restart - blank screen with message box "user/bin/startkde" not found : falling back to default session.
Could not restart whatever boot menu choice I chose, including "Repair broken Packages".
I would sure appreciate any suggestions!

Nepomuk is crucial to the operation of KDE. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEPOMUK_(framework) It and akonadi are two reasons I stick with Fluxbox.

If you can boot into recovery mode, your best bet would be the reinstall KDE. Failing that, my best guess is to boot to a Live CD, back up your crucial data, and reinstall Kubuntu.
