kongoni gnu/linux login as administrator help


i need to be an administrator to update my computer. i know the password but i can not find out where to login. please help

Normally you'd login at the GUI with your normal non-admin user, then either select the Add/Remove Programs (or equiv) menu option, which should ask for the root (admin) user passwd,OR you can open a cmd line term aka xterm and try

NB: note the '-' there, then give the root passwd when asked.
