i've installed and compiled a kernel a couple of times
first with lilo as boot loader then grub
when i do everything the normal way
and cp bzImage to boot Dir and edit grub and restart
and select the new kernel my system reboots
i also used rdev , but no cigar
any suggestions?? somebody??
The same thing happened to me, except when my GRUB screen would come up it just had the words "GRUB" all over the screen, I haven't fixed it yet, but i'll probably just reinstall RH. I would just try the patch for the kernel or if you have RH use up2date to update it.
