kde desktop icons

how do I show icons only on a kde desktop, just the icon with no text, for example trash, hda1, home, ..etc, it's probably obvious but can't seem to do it, any advice appreciated.

"how do I show icons only on a kde desktop, just the icon with no text,"

Set the icon text color to the same as the background color. The text will disappear.

kcontrol -> Desktop -> Appearance -> Normal text color
kcontrol -> Appearance & Themes -> Background -> Color 1
