What do you mean by "original"?
Do you want to exit graphical mode and work in text mode or do you want to use gnome instead of kde?

If you want to only login in text mode only, you need to change the /etc/inittab file. In particular, the part that says id:5:initdefault:. Just change the 5 to a 3. To just kill the X server temporarily, just type init 3 from a console as root. Next login and you will boot into runlevel 5 (gui).
