Unhappy Just installed Vector SOHO 5.1.1, some problems

I just installed Vector. It works but every time I try to shut down, restart or log off I get a black screen with an X for a cursor and it freezes. Also, I had SuSE 10.0 installed before and it had a lot of problems so I replaced it with Vector. The bootloader (GRUB) was left over from SuSE and when I try to boot it gives me an error. While I was installing Vector it gave me an option to install the LILO bootloader onto a floppy do I did that just in case something like this happened.

It looks like a graphic card driver problem and/or power management. What's your graphics card?
