Unhappy java command not found????

I'm trying to run a .jar file, and I write: java -jar jarfile, and it says it can't find the java command, if I do "which java" it says it doesn't exist..., so...., my guess is that I need to install it..., but what package do I use???

I'm using Mandrake 9.2

Thanks in advance...

Fernando

Try some java game on some web page, if they work you have java installed. If java games don`t work you don`t have plugin installed or no java at all. Download latest j2re and follow instructions on sun java web page. Or if java is installed but not found you can point to it manually for example
/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_07/bin/java -jar LuxCore.jar
executes LuxCore.jar for me. (my java executable -java- is in /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_07/bin/ directory)
