jackd and djplay

Hi folks, been looking for a good dj app, and i think i've found one. i have tried to use idjc before but the latency was too much for me.

i confess i know very little about jack, so a pointer to using this would very helpful. i used
Code:
jackd -d alsa -r 44100 -p 2048
when using idjc.

now when i start djplay it works. open the mic fader press talk and shcok horror i come out. not delayed or anything. load a track into a player pfl or mix matters not, nothing. the vus go up and down, but no noises come out

I think this is todo with jacks config. so a pointer as to how to do this would be nice.

With jack you have to connect audio stream, use qjackctl to configure, start and connect...
