Issues with chmod/chown in remaster

OK-my DSL remaster is now kinda working...
My remaster is "static" meaning I have everything on CD(mydsl, backup, etc).
When it's loading-after it finds the mydsl/backup a warning comes up saying "chmod /mnt/hdb/mydsl/MYDSL read-only cannot set permissions" or something like that. Also says the same for "chown..."
This is while loading OS, at boot.
How do I fix this?
I don't care if it remains "read-only" as data cannot be written back into the CD, that's why I call it a "static" remaster.
Everything works right after booting-my backup.tar.gz and mydsl are loaded and usable.
I just wanna have everything on the CD.
How do I fix this??
Thanks.

This seems to be due to user account settings - especially that the user ID (UID) number does not match for your building system and the remastered system. It can be misleading if you judge the situation by human-readable user names - the system is using ID numbers, so user 'john' on one system can have UID 501, and UID 522 on the other.

Anyway, it is difficult to give specific hints, as you gave no information on how the remastered system has been built.
