Thanks all of you for quick responses. Your replies, indeed helped me to know more about ext3 systems.

I read the man page and it mentioned having more than one mount options.
My tune2fs -l /dev/hda3/
shows
Default mount option : none
This basically confuses me now. Default options are overridden here in this case or they are being not assigned at all?
