My problem is that whenever i use firefox, only certain sites will work. Ubuntu, linux questions, and the winehq websites are the only ones that will load.
Any other webpage, including www.google.com, will not load, and I get the error screen that says that the connection has timed out, or that it is taking too long to respond.

Any help would be appreciated.
what happens when you run traceroute? i.e. "traceroute google.com" or "traceroute winehq.com"?
However, I can ping google.com, and it comes out fine
is your 192 nameserver working properly? (I'm guessing it is).
It's weird that you get 6 hops on the trace.... Sounds like a problem with your ISP. I mean, if you're getting out of your network, and ping works, then the problem is not likely on your end.
Yea im pretty sure it is, because my linux computer is dual-booted with windows, and it works fine in windows. If it makes a difference, I am using a wireless connection.

Have you checked your router, my parents put a router word block that blocks out certain words that are within the web address, someone might have put a crap load of wild card characters and then made exceptions for the sites you can access.
