There is no mistake in the username and password I typed.
Heh as far as I know, the modem should at that moment talk with the other modem. They should be talking just as long until they have the right speed and then talking for real (called a handshake). (passwd etc etc)
It might appear that you are using a wrong init string. Try only ATDTXXXX where xxx is the telephone number and no init strings at all....
