I'm trying to install ubuntu 11.04 but I'm having trouble. I burned the ISO image and even checked to see if files were correctly burned. After booting from CD the ubuntu logo came up and then the screen went black.I tried like three times and then I realized that the options to proceed were there bu the screen was too dark to be seen. I could barely see anything so I couldn't proceed. My computer is an Acer aspire 5736z -4016 and I have Mobile intel(R) 4 series express chipset for video with a resolution of 1366x768. It might be my video card because it's week. I tried loading some games but it didn't work because of it. Any ideas?
This is a wild shot in the dark, but is there a physical brightness control that might be turned down too low for the CD? My computer has one on the function keys.
good one, but I wish that was it. I tried that the first time but that wasn't the problem. It lets me choose the language but after that it's all dark. I never experienced this stuff before with ubuntu.
