Installing Thin Keramik Theme

Hi, I am having a lot of trouble getting the Thin Keramik theme to install on Mandrake 9.1.

First of all I had some trouble with autoconf versions, and 4 google searches later I had it installed. I thought this would fix my problem, but it didnīt.

I then tried to compile it by typing in ./configure and then make. This seemed to work ok, and now Iīm stuck. I then went to the theme manager and tried to add it, but I couldnīt find any files to add. Can anyone help?

BTW I have looked at the theme install guide on kde-look.org, but it is lacking detail.

Cheers,
Michael

did you "make install" then "make clean" after running "make" ?

No, I didn't.

Well I tried the make install thing once, but I didn't do the clean bit. I'll try that tonight. Will this make it available to select in the theme manager? Thanks for the help

Cheers,
Michael

I finally got it to compile

Although after I did these steps, the theme still wasn't available in the theme manager.

./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`
make
make install
ldconfig

At fist I thought the ` marks were ' marks, so that was half my problem. So that's how I got it to compile and supposedly install at least .

I read somewhere that /usr/bin had to be in the path, so I added that and still no luck.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who read my thread and jalal for the help, but I'm probably going to get rid of Linux, as trivial problems like this really turn me off. It's only a damn theme and even after a day of messing around it won't work! That said, there were other things that turned me off, so I'm not just quitting because of that (AA fonts aren't consistent in all apps, sometimes keys have to be pressed twice for them to register, multiple files have to be edited to change the tiniest of settings etc).

Cheers,
Michael
