Question Installing software

OK I had a problem with my network card - it's been solved. Now I can access internet under linux so I've downloaded StarOffice beta6 but what do I do with the auto executable file?

usually staroffice to install comes with a filename.bin file. with that file, just type the filename of the .bin file in a terminal within X and it should start out with a graphical install.. unless the beta 6 isn't like its previous 5.2 version.. there should be install and readme files for instructions...
also, you might have to chmod 777 the file to execute it like in 5.2.. but i haven't messed with 6.0 beta yet, so it might be different.

Talking Solved!

The solution was a bit unexpected. I was not meant to open any autoexe files as a user.I've changed my privileges and when I clicked the icon off I went. Sorry to trouble you.
