installing slackware to usb won't boot

I am using unetbootin to install several disros(arch, slackware, manjaro, mageia)

in all cases when I try to boot it only gives me one option(default)
. then it endlessly reset to 10 seconds. I have done this with other distros that worked. I am using a 125GB flash drive. I think it could be a problem with persistance. any help is appreciated

That is strange. From memory the slackware default delay is 2 minutes to select the distro/kernel to boot from.

Which of the four distros is the boot screen from?

You do know that there is a Slackware instalation forum as part of this site don't you?

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do based on the above comment. Are you trying to use unetbootin for a multiboot USB? That is not what it was designed for but it can be done, rather convoluted process as explained at the link below.

One boot option for one OS, is that what you mean? That's the way it is designed, the second Linux installed to a USB overwrites the first unless you use a process similar to what is explained in the link above.

i've put Slackware install dvd iso onto https://ventoy.net/en/index.html and it booted up and started install; also you can drag and drop several linux distro and choose which to boot via splash . Most work, some even with persistence
