Installing Linux 3ee


Heya guys... i am totally new to Linux i know nothing of it and was hoping that u guys could tell me how to get started..

Welcome at LQ
There are a lot of Linux distros.
Which one suit best that is for you to decide
But there are a lot distros who has a Live CD version all you have to do download it burn it as a iso image
and you try it without installing until you have decide with one suit you best.

To start with u need to download/get the os software. I reccomend you to download the same from the following site:
http://software.opensuse.org/
its for Suse Linux 11
it would be better if u can use some P2P software(like bittorrent,Vuze) to dowload. There are lots of seeds and thus it will download in a day (broadband speed)
burn the downloaded content to a dvd (iso image)
and then u can boot the system from dvd and start installation
get back in case of any issues

If there is any OS currently installed on the computer, and you have an internet connection, you could use unetbootin to do a net installation of many popular linux distributions:
