installing jdk


I have downloaded jdk in my fedora 9 system.can anybody tell me how to install it....

What have you downloaded ? tar file or the rpm?

the file is jdk-6u10-linux-i586.bin

Look at the permissions. If it has got execute permissions, just run the file as you run the shell script.
./jdk-6u10-linux-i586.bin

i think fedora 9 has built in jdk.I m able to run program in eclipse

have you tryed whatever your pakage manager is called (so long since i used fedora i cant remember)

search sun java and install both the main pakage and the dev pakage,

then everything should work
