Installing gcc on an ARM plateform

Hi all,

I have recently bought an embedded ARM plateform and I would like to install gcc to be able to make programs on the board. The problem is that it comes only with a toolchain to cross compile. gcc is not installed. What is the best way to install gcc ? Can I found somewhere a gcc package for arm ?

By the way, apt-get is not installed either...

Thanks

See:

http://platformx.sourceforge.net/Doc...ToolChain.html

and:

http://www.filewatcher.com/m/arm-lin...83042.0.0.html

which pretty much walks you through the process with a link to a download site for arm-linux-gcc tarball.

Most Debian packages are also made for arm.

Examples
http://packages.debian.org/etch/gcc-4.1
http://packages.debian.org/etch/gcc-3.3

Yes, that's the toolchains. What I am looking for is how to compile on the board.
