i'm trying to install fodora core 3 on an amd athlon 64 3500+ on a msi rs-480 m2-il motherboard with 1 gb og 400mhz ddr ram with 2 hdds (1- 160 gb SATA and 2- 40 gb ATA). i have win xp installed on the 160 gb hdd and want to install linux on the 2nd hdd.
but when i try to install i get the following 2 bugs:
1)assertion (head >0) at disk_dos.c : 485 in function_probe_partition_for_geom() failed 96
2)assertion (sectors <=63) at disk_dos.c : 490 in function_probe_partition_for_geom() failed 96
and then it says install exited abnormally...
what do i do? please help...

Sound like your disks have some errors. To preserve its own integrity FC3 walks away. You can boot up a Live CD and do a
to see what Linux has to say on the complete run down of your disks and their partitions.
