installation question


can anyone please explain to me how to install the following files:

- krb5-1.2.7-10.scr.rpm
- openssl-0.9.7a-2.scr.rpm

i double-click the file, then there a message asking me to provide the root password, after i typed in the password. the meassage deisappers, but nothing seems to happen at all.

obviously, i dont know how to use the terninal for the files.

those are source code rpms ... you might want to look for their binary counterparts (ie the same name without src, I think)

so these files I think
krb5-1.2.7-10.rpm
openssl-0.9.7a-2.rpm

and then indeed double clicking should do it!

those files seem to be the ones i need.
because when i tried to add some some packages with the installation CD, it said couldnt be found on the system. so i got a hold on them, then i got lost.
also, when i looked them up from the net, they are seem to have that src part in the name

for src files you have to use terminal

rpmbuild --rebuild package.x.x.x.src.rpm
