I am new to Linux, and I am trying to install midnight commander. I read that i required glib, so i did "./configure", "make" and "make install" with glib 2.6.2, with success. It was in path file:/home/christoffer/install/glib-2.6.2

Thereafter I'd ./configure in path file:/home/christoffer/install/mc-4.6.0
but it dint work, I get the message at the end:

GNU Midnight Commander requires glib 1.2.6 or above.

so I guess I need to put in full path or what? But how is that done?

check the readme for gmc, it might say what commandline options there are for ./configure. that might work. what midnight commander for anyway

I looked up ./configure --help, and read install file, but I can't find anything..
